Overview
This project was designed to transform a high-rise condo into a coastal retreat that evokes the serenity of a beach house while taking full advantage of the panoramic ocean views. Our goal was to create a tranquil, peaceful space where the owners could escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and feel as though they were on vacation every day. The challenge was to bring the essence of beach living into a modern, high-rise without losing the natural connection to the ocean.
Design Concept: To achieve the perfect balance between modern sophistication and the relaxed vibe of beach living, the design was inspired by the surrounding coastal landscape. The interior aesthetic was anchored in natural materials and a soft, harmonious color palette reflective of the beach environment. The aim was to evoke the feeling of being on a tranquil getaway, blending the elements of nature with contemporary living.
Color Palette and Materials: Taking cues from the sweeping 180-degree water views, we chose a soft and soothing color palette of warm sandy whites, ocean blues, and sea oat tans. These colors reflect the sky, sand, and sea, creating a calming environment that aligns with the coastal surroundings. The materials were selected to enhance this connection, including blond woods, woven textures, and natural fibers that evoke the feel of a beachside retreat.
Spatial Layout and Design Elements: Large windows dominate the design, maximizing the stunning ocean views and filling the space with natural light. The open floor plan was intentionally crafted to create an unobstructed connection between the living, dining, and kitchen areas, encouraging easy flow and interaction while keeping the focus on the panoramic vistas outside.
Finishing Touches: The home’s decor was intentionally kept minimal to maintain a sense of openness and tranquility. Organic materials, such as textured woven seating, linen throws, and driftwood details, complete the space and echo the natural beauty of the beach.
In this project, we achieved a seamless integration of the coastal lifestyle into a modern urban environment, where the client can truly feel like they are living on vacation. By using a soft, natural color palette and incorporating organic materials, the space embodies the peaceful, laid-back essence of a beach house, creating a perfect retreat from the stresses of everyday life.
