We ask every client to dream big when they’re envisioning the look and feel they want for their new interiors. So, when this multi-generational family of six + two dogs moved into their newly constructed home, they’re dream was for a family friendly, light and bright, “beachy”, Hampton style interior.
Hampton style interiors are a great choice for family friendly spaces. Think gray undertones, white-washed, distressed woods, and washable fabrics on slip-covered sofas that give the air of effortless coastal style and easy family friendly living.
To create their Hampton style, we used their existing driftwood “floorboard” style flooring as a starting point. Then, we gave them woven fiber, and blue & white striped cotton rugs for the floors. Selected an overstuffed sofa with a washable natural “linen look” slipcover, generous proportioned lounge chairs in blue, and a rattan coffee table for the family room. For the dining area, a grey/white-washed distressed dining table paired with crisp, white, metal, “kid friendly” side chairs, and wicker head chairs – all situated under an orb-shaped light fixture wrapped in rope for the perfect amount of coastal whimsy and texture. The kitchen received new natural wood and iron counter stools under new seed-glass pendants. Glass-based lamps with plain linen shades sitting on natural timbered consoles add extra Hampton style details.
