Five Simple Tweaks to Make a Space Look and Feel Amazing!

When it comes to setting the tone for a space, there are certain things to consider.

Basically, they’re all associated with The Five Senses.

SIGHT. SOUND. SMELL. TASTE. TOUCH.

Appealing to the senses provides an overwhelming sense of comfort!

Here are the 5 things you can do to make a space feel amazing:

1. Light a Candle (Smell)

This speaks to the “Smell” sense.  Smells combined with “Taste” to produce flavors.

If you like the fragrance of the candle, even better.

We’re appealing to the senses here. Aroma is everything.

Some of my favorite scents are lavender, rosemary, and anything with tuberose in it.

Right now, what’s burning in my office is the Rosemary & Mint soy candle by Scentsational.

Another one of my favorites by Scentsational is Tobacco & Vanilla!

2. Plants are Friends (Sight + Touch)

Sight, technically is two senses, color & brightness.
I like to adorn coffee and sofa tables with beautiful orchids.

Feel free to use your favorite plant for greenery.

Adding fresh flowers can help add color and make a space feel airy and fresh.

Some of my favorite indoor plants are succulents and cactus, I love their green color and texture.

Also, get creative when choosing your planter!

Something out of the box like a wire egg basket will help you achieve a one-of-a-kind look.

3. Flick on the lamps (Sight)

Turning on table and/or floor lamps allows you to turn off your overhead lighting,

giving the space a more comfortable ambiance.

With your candles lit and your lamps on, there’s no need for harsh overhead lighting!

4. Music to their Ears (Sound)

Set your playlist to something neutral and relaxing. Or, use your candle as inspiration for the music!

A sensual scent with relaxing acoustic guitar music is my go-to.

I find that Restoration Hardware’s French Oak candle does the trick for me.

If the thought of relaxing on a beach somewhere is your go-to, here are some beach scents:

I like music with whale sounds in them. I find them very relaxing. It’s completely up to you.

Do what makes you feel good.

5. Adjust the Thermostat (Touch)

Don’t skimp! An indoor temperature that is too hot or too cold can make you feel uncomfortable.

Take into account the outdoor climate and adjust accordingly.

Trust me, having the right temperature will make sure your guests feel right at home.
