Lose the Ceiling Fan
Chandeliers are ceiling jewelry! Ladies, just like adding a pair of earrings or a bracelet are to an outfit. Guys, it’s like adding a nice watch or great pair of shoes! It pulls everything together from top to bottom.

Before the Chandelier
This is the first space you see when you walk in the door. All the furnishings occupy the first third of the room and there’s all this space above that has been forgotten. This space doesn’t draw you in and say “welcome”. It lacks interest and drama!
After the Chandelier
Rooms need big and tall, and short and small things. These differences create interest and drama. Otherwise, nothing would stand out. By dropping in a 60″ chandelier from Restoration Hardware this helped to visually fill the space and make everything look good next to one another. Now, the entire grouping reads as one inviting space!
Lose the Ceiling Fan Right?

You’re a Believer Right?
Losing the fan was a great idea. This gave me a place to add in this great 36″, 8-Light Sputnik Chandelier from Wayfair. I took my cues for the rooms design from the homeowner’s great art work, and created a mid-century modern style room that is fresh and new! And, I didn’t even have to change the wall color!
Moral of the Story
Whether you’re a fan of the fan or not, there’s no denying that chandeliers are beautiful! They’re the icing on the cake, the pièce de résistance, the crowning jewel! I beg to differ which is cooler. A fan does blow cool air… But – a CHANDELIER is the coolest!
