Overview

The homeowners having moved from their two-story 1926 French style chateau weren’t ready to part with some of their favorite French antiques. Blending their cherished pieces with modernized furnishings, and his black & white photography helped blur the lines of the new and old in their urban, industrial style five-story loft. We used natural wood elements to help soften the crisp, modern elements of the loft with 100 year old barnwood on the walls and cat-walk, a cypress bark sculptural element found on a cycling trip over the bed, and a cactus trunk coffee table in the living room. Three floors of the South wall received a plaster finish created to look like galvanized metal to offset the warmth of barnwood. Keeping the color palette in neutral whites and grays creates a monochromatic and peaceful environment. Adding to the sereneness are lots and lots of plants.
